Justin began to admire music at a very young age, and started playing drums at age 10. He enjoyed listening to and playing many different styles of music, but was drawn to hard rock. His style stems from a fusion of musicians whom he would emulate as he taught himself how to play. Justin has recently studied with drum solo expert and Cleveland’s own Billy Coakley. He has also attended clinics and has taken master classes with Vital Information and Journey’s Steve Smith, Dave Weckl from the Dave Weckl Band, Grammy Award Winning Horacio “El Negro” Hernandez, Modern Drummer’s back to back metal drummer of the year; Shadow’s Fall’s Jason Bittner, and Drummer’s Collective Faculty members Jason Gianni and Pat Petrillo. Justin had spent 14 years as a longstanding member of the rock group Sativa; an original act based out of Ohio. Sativa took their project to Orlando, Florida for further opportunities. Sativa recorded 3 full-length cd’s, and opened for national acts like Poison, Slaughter, Dokken, Cinderella, and Anthrax at major venues such as Polaris Amphitheatre in Columbus, Ohio. Justin has multiple years of experience in both gigging live and studio recording.
